According to ESET’s latest threat report, GB WhatsApp – a cloned/mod, third-party unofficial version of WhatsApp is spying on user’s chats. This mods app is not available on Google Play Store though and is available to download through websites only. In absence of any security checks, multiple versions of the app are available that are riddled with a trojan. The app tries to provide users with an experience that is comparable to WhatsApp by adding functionality that the original WhatsApp does not have.
