Instant messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out its recently spotted “Forwarding Info” feature that tells users how many times a message is being forwarded.

The feature was spotted in the beta version of Android app version 2.19.87 and is soon expected to roll out to the non-beta users as well. As of now, WhatsApp has rolled out the ‘Forwarding Info’ feature that shows the how many times a message has been forwarded. The users can check ‘Forwarding Info’ by selecting the message and tapping on the three-dot icon on the right and selecting ‘Info’. Readers must note that this information will be available only for sent messages as the user can navigate into Message Info only for messages he/she sent. However, if you like to see how many times a message (that someone has sent to you) has been forwarded, you can forward it to someone and go back to Message Info.

WhatsApp Forward Info

If a message is forwarded morethan 4times, it would add ‘Frequently Forwarded’ tag – but we noticed that this tag has been removed in the latest Beta version.

Recently, WABetaInfo, the online platform that tracks all the upcoming features in WhatsApp, also reported that WhatsApp is working on Dark Mode feature in the same update before rolling out to Beta users. Sharing the screenshots of the feature enabled on a smartphone, the report states that WhatsApp has implemented the Dark Mode in settings section. The images show the Dark Mode enabled in main settings, account settings, chats settings, notification settings, and data and storage usage settings. In this Beta version 2.19.87 update, the Dark Mode was seen working on the Profile section, in order to make it compatible with the Dark Mode.

It seems 2019 will be a busy year for people working at WhatsApp as well as for the users, enjoy WhatApping 😉
